On a beautiful sunny Sunday morning in September, Katie and Sean were married at an intimate ceremony in front of family and friends. The ceremony was held outside among the neatly kept wildflowers of Madison Creek Farms in Goodletsville, Tennessee. Katie wore a beautiful lace mermaid gown with a very unique bouquet that was made from her mother’s and grandmothers’ old dresses and buttons. Katie and Sean’s daughter, McKenna, served as flower girl along with their life long friends in their wedding party. They decided to do a first look away from everyone and I was able to catch their reaction to seeing each other for the first time on their wedding day. First looks are so lovely because I feel that I’m witnessing a truly special moment between the couple.
The couple exchanged vows and then performed a dirt ceremony, mixing dirt from their hometowns and where they currently live. After the announcement of husband & wife and the first kiss, they walked back down the aisle and shared a toast with their wedding party. We all snuck away to do some more portraits as guests began to dig into brunch. When we wrapped up the portraits the wedding party and newlywed were announced into the reception. Katie & Sean had their first dance as husband and wife. Katie then did the traditional father-daughter dance followed by Sean dancing with daughter McKenna. It was all so sweet for that beautiful morning. Speeches were given that drew a tear or two along with some lovely laughter. Katie and Sean then cut their beautiful wedding cheesecake, having a bite and then a little cake in the face. I think if Katie & Sean’s marriage remains as joyful as their wedding day, they will be married for life and that is my wish for them.
