The Power of Personal Branding

Liza and Alex were wed on a gorgeous day in October.  They chose to exchange vows at the historic McConnell House in downtown Franklin, Tennessee.

We started the day with Liza and her bridesmaids at a local house where they all were getting their hair and make-up done.  Everyone was so relaxed and ready to enjoy the day.  Once everyone was ready, we made our way to the venue to get Liza hidden before Alex and his groomsmen arrived.  Liza promptly put on her gorgeous dress so we could do a first look.

We decided to do the first look on the porch with just them, my second shooter and myself.  Of course, her wedding party was peeking through the windows to watch.  She was overtaken with emotion as she saw her groom and soon to be husband for the first time.  His smile couldn’t have been larger as he saw his bride and soon to be wife for the first time.  As soon as they took in the moment, we started shooting their couple portraits, followed by the wedding party and then family photos.

Guests were arriving, so we went back inside to get the couple hidden for their debut during the ceremony.  The ceremony took place on the grand staircase in the center of McConnell House. They exchanged their vows in front of their loved ones.  I loved how excited both were to be pronounced man & wife!

We grabbed the couple and wedding party to take a few more photos during the golden hour as their guests enjoyed cocktail hour.  My favorite moment was when I had the party sing ‘Rocky Top,’ as they are big UT fans.  As soon as we got back inside they were ready for the first dance, father daughter dance and mother son dance followed by the blessing for dinner.

Liza and Alex, you are such a fun and wonderful couple and it was truly an honor to capture the moments from their wedding day.  It was a pleasure to get to know you two during your engagement session in the spring.  You two deserved this perfect day and I wish you all the happiness in the world.
