Last weekend, my sweet friend Rebecca married her love, Steven in an outdoor ceremony in Dundee, Illinois (just south of Chicago) at the McGraw Wildlife Foundation. The couple met while teaching math in Nashville. They were married very close to Rebecca’s hometown of Barrington. Steven’s family drove from Huntsville, Alabama and they had friends travel from their new home in Nashville. Steven’s brother officiated the ceremony, making it so very special for the pair. Their guests enjoyed a lovely meal before they moved to the dance floor for the dances. Steven had snuck away after dinner to put on his cowboy boots for their dance to “Head Over Heels.” It was too cute. Rebecca and her dad followed with a daddy-daughter dance to “Sweet Home Chicago” only to be followed by Steven and his mom dancing to “Sweet Home Alabama.” The dance floor opened to everyone as they couple went to cut their cake that was made by Rebecca’s super talented mother. At the end of the night family and friends lit sparklers for quite a grand exit! Bart and I really enjoyed this wedding as we got to know their family and friends. Also, I started a new tradition of taking a photo with the bride.
