This was an extra special wedding. See, Alex is my second cousin and the eldest of his siblings to get married. I’ve watched him grow up over the years into an amazing young man. Both he and Casey are teachers, which I love. Both Casey & Alex have an affinity for nature, so they chose succulents as a major element of their wedding décor. Alex has always had quite the variety of critters, so it was natural that his groom’s cake was topped with a frog.
Their ceremony took place in the church that Alex grew up in, Madison Methodist Church. Family and friends gathered as the pair exchanged vows. Once the ceremony was over, they took a short drive to The Lake House located on the Barnett Reservoir (which is where I grew up). The newlywed couple shared a private dinner before joining their guests. Dances were danced; cakes were cut all while the wedding party was secretly decorating their car. Oddly enough it was my first wedding to photograph with a decorated getaway car. Everyone lined up to shower them with dried rose petals.
