I have been photographing weddings full time for 5 years. Before I was a wedding photographer, I worked in the music business where I helped my company plan large-scale events. Those events prepared me to be easy going in the midst of what can be a hectic day.
I love the start of a wedding day, when I come in and everything is a buzz with preparation. When I find the bridal suite, I am ready to grab your details and start photographing and will keep going until your grand exit.
Not only will I help you with planning your wedding day schedule, but on your wedding day I will be there to help you stay in the moment and enjoy the day. I want you to be joyous and relaxed in your wedding photos.
While I am not a Nashville native, I have lived here for over 20 years now. I was born in Brandon, Mississippi and hold dear to my roots there. The music business brought me to town where I finished college at Middle Tennessee State University before embarking on a 15 year career in music publishing (aka working with songwriters). I was blessed to work for some amazing people, which lead to me meeting my husband of over 13 years (and yes, he is a songwriter).
Beyond my work, I love nothing more than sitting on the couch with my husband, Bart, and our two cocker spaniels, Mille and Harper. Our big dates consist of going to a matinee movie during the week. In our marriage, we love to laugh, like a lot! Yes, I am a girlie girl (pink is my favorite color) but I am all about college football come fall. On Saturdays that I’m not shooting a wedding you might find me at Cars & Coffee in Cool Springs before running off to join my friend for a mani-pedi.
joyful and timeless photography you'll cherish
When I took the Strengths Finder test one of my top strengths was a servant’s heart. I’m not sure if this was part of my raising or DNA, but I have never felt that I was ‘too good’ to do something that was asked of me.
As a wedding photographer, I wear many hats. I will help brides with their timeline, stage beautiful details to showcase special touches of a wedding day, and yes even help bustle the bride’s dress. I want to be that calming presence in the midst of what could potentially be a stressful day.
It is an honor for me to photograph your special moments that will become your heirlooms.
i have always cherished photography
My Great Aunt Sue lived in Maryland and never married. To me she lived a very glamorous life. I remember having a snapshot of her in a white fur coat in front of a silver Christmas tree tucked in the corner of the mirror in my room. I was in high school when she passed away.
About eight years ago, I started getting interested in my family ancestry and my Aunt Mary Sue (Sue’s namesake) started giving me some of Aunt Sue’s old photographs. Even though I never really knew her all that well, I feel like I know her through the hundreds of images I have now. I truly cherish them. And they remind me why I do what I do.
I want to taken images that generations from now look at and cherish the way I cherish Aunt Sue’s images.

On September 2, 2007, I married the one who makes me laugh so hard my stomach hurts, Bart.

Most importantly, my faith is at the heart of everything I do. I serve others to serve Him.

These two brighten our lives in ways words cannot describe. And yes, they have their own Instagram account.
