Turns out, 15 years in the music industry will teach you a lot about timing, storytelling, and how to stay calm when everything goes off script.
Now I use all of it to help business owners, artists, and creatives feel seen, supported, and seriously good on camera. My process is collaborative and clear, so you’re never guessing what to do or how it’s going to turn out. You’ll feel prepared going in and proud coming out.
The first camera I ever loved was a teal Canon point-and-shoot. I’d burn through a roll of film, drop it off, and wait a full week just to see what I captured
Still, I didn’t start my career with a camera in hand. I studied Music Business, moved to Nashville, and spent 15 years in music publishing, wrangling artist calendars, while managing events, and keeping everything moving behind the scenes. (One of my bosses said I was like an air traffic controller for drunk pilots. He wasn’t wrong.)
And through it all, I kept shooting. At company events. For songwriter promos. On weekends. One request led to another, and before long, I bought my first DSLR and took a course. I started learning how to shoot the kind of images people actually needed.
By 2015, I was ready to build something of my own. I went full-time with photography and started saying yes to everything. It taught me what I loved—and what I didn’t and that was helping people show up in photos that feel like them and work for the business they’re building.
The relief people feel when they see their gallery and say, “This is me. This is it.” Is what keeps me doing this work and the thing I love the most.
