I was so excited when Emma + Michael chose Franklin, Tennessee for the location of their engagement session. We started off at Arrington Vineyards about 10 minutes away from Downton Franklin.

I have my special spots at Arrington that are away from the crowds of people there to enjoy wine tasting and live music. We started strolling between the vines as we worked our way to a covered driveway that made for the most dramatic images.

I love when clients have ideas for an image because it was totally Emma’s idea to have Michael pick her up for a kiss.

Next, we took that 10-minute drive to downtown Franklin. Because the city is so busy on the weekends these days, I took them off the main streets to start. I knew of some areas that had vibrant orange and yellow trees, which went perfectly with their fall attire. I think we hit the peak of fall foliage that weekend.

We kept walking until we found our way back to Main street. One idea they both had was to include ice cream in their session and Kilwin’s was the perfect spot. I grabbed the red wrought iron table outside while they ordered their desserts. I am so glad that I brought my flash because I did need it for some of those city sidewalk photos as we were losing light.

We wrapped their session up in front of the iconic Franklin Theatre. It is so pretty there and a perfect backdrop for an early evening fall session!
