Full disclosure, this has got to be one of my favorite engagement shoots to date, for two reasons. One is that the bride is my second cousin, Georgiana, whom I’ve spent lots of time with over the years. The second reason is that we shot it in Natchez, Mississippi, which is one of my favorite cities to visit. Georgiana and Zach are high school sweethearts. I’ve gotten to know Zach over the years at family functions and one too many late-night games of dominos at my Aunt & Uncle’s house. I was so thrilled when I heard he proposed to Georgiana in Disney World last spring.
I have to admit, I was super excited when Georgiana chose Natchez as her engagement location, in particular Dunleith Historic Inn, which was built in 1856. We spent most of our time that day at this location because it offered so much with it’s grandeur columns and magnolia trees. She also wanted to shoot at Monmoth’s Gardens which included a tiny swamp and gorgeous white bridge. We finished at sunset along the bluffs of the Mississippi River. I never tire of that view!
We had such a great time during their session that I’m really excited for their wedding next May.
