Last August, I had the pleasure of shooting the cutest 5-year-old birthday for Miss Stella. Her sweet mom, Shannon, is an event planner in the Nashville area and wanted to show that you can throw a child’s birthday party that doesn’t involve a jump house or Chuck-E-Cheese. She (along with some family and friends) put together the coolest-girly-rockin’ birthday party in her back yard for the coolest-girly-rockin’ 5-year-old, Stella.
She had a hot pink carpet (instead of red) to enter the party with framed photos of Stella growing up. There was a tent with a stage set up for the local teenage band to play some cover tunes. Beautiful tables and couches were set up in the yard for parents to hang while the kids enjoyed face painting, temporary tattoos, and a photo booth. So very typically August, we had a rain shower (well downpour) towards the end of the set. Everyone got under the tent while we sang Happy Birthday to Miss Stella.
After the candles were blown out and the band broke down their gear, the kids took part in their very own dance party. Stella handed out her personal playlist on CD to guests as a thank you. I definitely think Stella’s party was way more fun than another party at Chuck-E-Cheese and way more memorable.
