Gabby and Cory were married in downtown Nashville at the Rhinestone Wedding Chapel located in the Arcade, right in the heart of Music City. The two chose the intimate location for their ceremony, so that the room was filled with family and a few friends as the two professed their love and devotion for each other. They decided to do their ‘grand exit’ after the ceremony instead of waiting until later into the night. Guests showered them with sprinkles as they exited the Arcade onto 4th Avenue.
For their reception, they chose the Centennial Art Center courtyard, off of West End. Tables were set up among the beautiful gardens and greenery. Both Gabby and Cory are in the music industry, so it was only natural for them to have their friends, Andy Brasher Band, to play as their wedding band. They were set up in the covered area, which was a good thing because just before dinner was served, it poured down rain. Most people would have been so stressed with this rain and no plan B to move the guests anywhere, but Gabby and Cory were so cool and laid back that they just rolled with it and enjoyed the rain. Gabby had changed from her formal gown to a more casual dress to enjoy the reception.
After everyone had a chance to enjoy Corky’s BBQ under the awning of the art building, some of the guys moved the tents that were set up for corn hole and set them on tables to create a covered dance floor. My favorite moment of the day was when Gabby and Cory took their first dance with all their loved ones surrounding them just inside the make-shift dance floor/tent. Everyone was close and surrounding them and you could just feel the love.
After the first dance, they followed with parent dances. Cory’s brother sang as he and his mom danced and everyone teared up. Toasts were next, followed by more dancing. When it came time to cut the cake, instead of smashing the cake in Gabby’s face, Cory smashed it in his nephew’s face which was followed by a pretty impressive smash into Cory’s beard. When Gabby went to kiss him, Cory then smashed his cake filled beard into her face. Guests were laughing so hard at their reactions and I must say it was pretty funny and very telling about how much fun this sweet couple has together.
