Katie and Brandon were married on an unusually warm day in early January. Their ceremony was held at the Baskin Chapel of Brentwood Baptist just outside of Nashville, Tennessee. The ceremony was very intimate with an audience of family only.
After the ceremony, I snuck off with Katie & Brandon to shoot their portraits. One request I had with Katie when we met is to get some photos of Brandon’s Uncle’s vintage Chevy truck. Although it started sprinkling while we shot outside, we made sure to use the truck in their portraits.
After we finished those, we took a short drive to the reception location at Green Door Gourmet on the West side of Nashville. Katie and Brandon had a private dinner (which I think is such a great idea for the couple to do so they are certain to eat that evening). Guests trickled in as Brandon and Katie joined their guests for cocktail hour. The DJ shortly played their first dance song, “Circles” by Jana Kamer, which was written by Brandon. Shortly after a few more dances, their guests enjoyed a buffet style dinner of BBQ and comfort food (big props for the Mac & Cheese bar).
After everyone ate and danced some, the couple cut the donut cake from Donut Den, one of Nashville’s most revered donut joints. At the end of the evening, their family and friends gathered outside to send the couple off with a tunnel of sparklers that led to the vintage Chevy truck.
I wish Katie and Brandon so much love in their marriage. I pray that during the hard times they will each remember the looks they gave each other as Katie walked down the aisle and remember the love they have for each other.
