They say that rain is good luck on your wedding day. If that’s true then Andrea and Will earned many, many decades full of an amazing marriage after a tornado rolled through Jackson, Mississippi on the morning of their wedding. I repeat a tornado hit the morning of their wedding. This is enough to send anyone on edge, but Andrea kept her calm and just rolled with the weather and enjoyed the day.
We had talked about going to some amazing locations (including the Governor’s Mansion) for her wedding portraits, but that all had to be changed based on the lovely forecast. I’m glad we made that decision early on. It rained all day. The Belhaven historic home they rented was a great plan B. Her beautiful traditional ceremony was held at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Cathedral on Capitol Street in the heart of Jackson. It is such a beautiful sanctuary and I had forgotten just how beautiful the old churches in Jackson are.
After the ceremony, we were bussed to the Jackson Yacht Club. Thank goodness it stopped raining for us to take some quick sunset photos. It was gorgeous! Those are my favorite images from that day. They took a quick moment to have dinner together before entering the reception and getting the party started. They chose a band for their reception, who kept their guests on the dance floor. Towards the end of the evening, Andrea and her bridesmaids took the stage with a revised rendition of the Dixie Chick hit “Goodbye Earl” with Earl changed to Will. Guests sent the couple off with some glow sticks and well wishes.
